Description
This exceptional book in Frencha language is finally available again!
The book had a tremendous success in its first edition in 1999. In 18 months, 500 copies were sold at 90 Euro each. It must be said that the production was great: beautiful hardcover, dust jacket luxury color, over 300 illustrations, and even a special 16-page color inside. The editor had even managed to find a piece of paper bearing a particular persistent smell.
13 years later, “légendes urbaines” (Engl. Urban Legends) is available again identical (except for the smell of paper) for a second limited edition. And again, it’s the old accomplice François Montmirel who care. “I do not accept to edit it again it but only if it’s him who do it,” said Chelman. This is now done!
What’s so special about this French book? All that is necessary to know about the “Bizarre Magic” or “Fantastic Magic.” That is to say that these routines are actually with embellished stories of authentic objects. The magician performs magic effects at appropriate times, but this is not essential. The spectator experience shows with a real sense of wonder and sometimes even asking crowds of questions.
The book is conceptual. The author immerses the reader in 6 “travel” whose themes are clairvoyance, storytelling, technology, travel shamanism … which he probably emerge unscathed.
But Christian Chelman goes further. He’s provides all the keys so that the reader becomes the creator of his own bizarre magic routines rules, codes, tricks to create a routine even more effective in one purpose: to surprise the spectator and lead where never went.
Over time, this book became so desired that copies of the original edition have even pulled over € 1,000 on the internet.
